The Science

Muons pass through all of us all the time. These tiny particles rain down from the sky at near-speed of light and can penetrate deep into all known substances.

How deep does a muon go exactly? That depends on the density of the substance they pass through. Less dense materials such as air lets through more muons, while denser materials like lead stop more – but not all – of them. And this is the key to utilising muons.

In our skilled hands, muons turn into powerful tools. We harness them to provide density information on any desired target. Using muon imaging, we can locate ore deposits, analyse fractures, scan through buildings, detect unseen caves. Whatever you want, as long as density is a key identifying factor.
